The Devil’s Breath was shot across two starkly contrasting worlds: the untamed rainforests of Colombia and the industrial underbelly of Los Angeles. Each location was chosen not just for visual impact, but for how it deepened the story’s central themes of control, fear, and psychological unraveling.
In Colombia, scenes were filmed near Medellín, where the real-life origins of the infamous drug “Devil’s Breath” (Scopolamine) lend the film an unsettling layer of authenticity. These dense jungles immersed the cast and crew in raw nature — unpredictable, humid, and dangerous — pushing the performances into something deeply primal and visceral.
Back in Los Angeles, the production explored abandoned buildings, underground corridors, and derelict urban zones, creating a stark, dystopian contrast to the jungle. These gritty, decaying backdrops symbolized modern corruption and mental decay, grounding the psychological horror in a tangible reality.
